The design brief for this compact terrace garden was to create an external room providing a unique sanctuary in which to unwind or entertain. By cleverly balancing artificial planting with natural planting, an instantly impactful look has been created which would otherwise have taken years to achieve. A natural trachelospermum jasminoides has been planted in front of the artificial climbers to provide seasonal flowering for colour and scent and to encourage insects and butterflies.
The comfortable seating has been encircled by a selection of eye-catching pots filled with natural planting of different shapes, heights and hues to ensure balance, depth and interest. The use of differing sizes and material adds interest and texture making this a highly desirable spot in which to kick back.
